Cross the Sametielva river by means of a small, old wooden bridge, and follow the forest track towards Malbekkvassdraget.  From the forest track, swing left (east) down the Malbekk water course, following this towards Malbekkvannet.  From Malbekken, continue eastwards over Båttjønna, down towards the Markina water course and then down towards Skjellbekken, where there is a road crossing.  Follow the marsh towards the north-west corner, then continue up the Pasvik river on the public scooter trail (marked here by the Norwegian armed forces).

At Vaggetem, there is cold water available from a hole in the ice, straw for the dogs, a café serving hot and cold food, and cabins with beds, reserved for mushers.
